Do I need riding experience?

No. This course is groundwork-based and suitable for participants who are comfortable being around horses but may not have extensive riding experience.

Will we ride during the course?

The main six-week course focuses on groundwork, and in-hand (ie. not in the saddle). Ridden application may be available as an optional add-on for suitable students or regular riding lessons are available too.

Can I bring my own horse?

Absolutely, yes! Please ensure this is arranged prior to your lesson, as space is limited for float parking, and horses are subject to approval based on suitability, health and safety. No stallions are allowed at this time.

Is this suitable for nervous riders or handlers?

Yes. This course is a great option for people who want to build confidence around horses in a calm, structured and supportive environment.

Is this based on Monty Roberts’ methods?

The course is informed by Kaili’s training under Monty Roberts, including principles of Join-Up, pressure and release, body language and trust-based communication. It also incorporates extensive recognised equine behavioural science and practical groundwork skills.

Is this suitable for children?

This course is best suited to teens and adults. Younger students may be considered depending on experience, confidence and suitability.

Programs will run across the June/July school holidays at 2963 Moggill Road, Pinjarra Hills. Camping is also available for selected clinic dates, making it easy for participants bringing their own horses or travelling from further afield to settle in and enjoy the full Racing Hearts experience.

These school holidays, Racing Hearts McIntyre Centre is offering a unique range of horse-based experiences designed to bring together riders, horse lovers and families of all ages, abilities and interests. Whether you're introducing a child to horses, looking to deepen your understanding of horse behaviour and communication, or exploring horse ownership and retraining, our programs provide practical learning in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Each experience is built around developing confidence, connection and communication through horses. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from experienced coaches, gain hands-on knowledge, and discover new ways of understanding and working with horses.
