Every horse at Racing Hearts McIntyre Centre has a story.
Many of our horses are off-the-track Thoroughbreds — known as OTTs — who have retired from racing and are now beginning a new chapter. Through patient retraining, care, and thoughtful matching, these horses go on to support riding lessons, RDA programs, equine-assisted therapy, groundwork sessions, community events, and confidence-building experiences.
They are teachers, teammates, therapy partners, and friends. They help people build trust, regulate emotions, develop coordination, learn responsibility, overcome fear, and experience the powerful connection that can happen between horses and humans.
Sponsoring a horse helps us provide the care, feed, health support, and ongoing management these incredible animals need to thrive in their second careers.
A monthly contribution toward the ongoing care of a selected horse. You'll be recognised on your horses' page and receive regular updates - you can even come and meet your sponsored horse and watch them in action at the centre!
A yearly sponsorship helping cover major care costs for one horse across the year. You'll be recognised on your horses' page, on their sign at the barn and receive regular updates - you can even come and visit your sponsored horse and watch them in action at the centre!
A sponsorship option for local businesses who want to support a horse and be recognised through the Centre’s website, social media, events and signage. Your business logo will be displayed on our website, on the horses' sign at the barn and we'll do a monthly post on social where we will share your business and a monthly offer or message.
What Sponsorship Helps Cover
Feed & Hay - Daily feed includes hay, hard feed, supplements and nutrition tailored to each horse’s needs. Veterinary Care - Routine check-ups, vaccinations, dewormer, maintenance & treatments, medications, emergency care, and health monitoring. Those with old racing injuries may need maintenance and regular checkups to stay sound and comfortable. Farrier Care - Hoof trimming or shoeing every six weeks to keep each horse sound, comfortable, and able to work safely. Dental Care - Did you know that horses required routine dental checks and treatment to support comfort, chewing, condition, and performance? Their teeth never stop growing, so they require twice-yearly visits from our lovely dentist. Bodywork & Rehabilitation - Our horses receive regular visits from the chiropractor and physio. Many of our horses need help staying comfortable and mobile, particularly those with old racetrack injuries. Equipment & Daily Care - Rugs, grooming supplies, fly spray, tack, halters, lead ropes, first aid supplies, supplements, and general care items... it's a never-ending list where horses are concerned! Training & Retraining - ongoing education and maintenance training helps our horses transition safely into therapy, lesson, groundwork, and community roles.

Centre sponsorship helps us maintain and improve the facilities that support our programs, horses, participants, volunteers, and visitors. This may include arena upkeep, paddock care, accessibility improvements, equipment, infrastructure, and general operational support.

From horse feed and equipment to facility improvements, program resources, and everyday care, your support helps us continue our work with horses, participants, families, volunteers, and the wider community.
